I just finished feeding and giving Pedialyte to two fledglings. All they needed was a drink but they were picked up and transported to Animal Control. So now their lives are forever changed. I can keep them alive and raise them to fly away. But I can’t teach them to find food, or what to be afraid of or even what kind of bird they are. Their parents do that. Please, Please give the baby bird a drink of water or Pedialyte if you have it. Then put them in a bush or on a tree branch and walk away. Bird parent are very good and just want their baby back. The parents can teach them to avoid the cats in the neighborhood. After all, that is their home.
Put out shallow pans of water and keep them filled through out this terrible heat. The parents and the babies will all come down for a drink.
