The heat is causing birds, adults and babies of all kinds, to seek water! Please put out shallow pans of water for all the wild animals. Mississippi Kites are notorious for going up to houses to get a drink from the dogs bowls. Possum World just told me she is getting calls of possums and other small creatures getting in swimming pools!
This baby bird came down to the ground for a drink of water. He is not injured, his parents are in the tree over head. He did not need to be rescued. He just need a cool drink. The finder put him back in the tree.
