Dogs

I had a wonderful day yesterday and even got to go to bed early (10PM). Jim let the dogs out for the last time before he came to bed around 11PM. Sounds simple enough. Suddenly I am awaken by the most awful, eye watering stink and it is emanating from the small dog that just jumped up on our bed!!

Cooper is our small pug/poodle mix that was surrendered to us several years ago, He sleeps with us, between our pillows. Last night he obviously ran head first into the back end of a skunk. Then he ran back through the house into our bedroom, up on the comforter and, and, and, well you get the rest.

While holding my nose and my eyes watering, I turned on the shower, grabbed the baking soda from the ice box and Jim and I began rinsing Cooper. Baking Soda works. Cooper was soon sweet smelling, not so our house and bedroom.

The moral of the story is, Don’t let your dog chase cats, they can’t tell the difference between cats and skunks.
