The Business Side of Birds

I want to apologize to anyone that I may have confused but the birds are not free and they are not for sale. In order to continue to take in more birds and work with them for many years we must recoup some of our costs. To that end we have asked for a donations of $20.00 with each application, that is non refundable. Also a donation from $450 to $900 is expected and greatly appreciated with each adoption.

The birds have to be fed, sheltered and occasionally a trip to the avian vet is required. A surrender donation of $50.00 hardly covers the cost of setting up a bird and caring for them for month, let alone the years that many have been here. That is why I ask owners to please donation the birds cage too, when they surrender their bird. I prefer the bird to be in familiar surroundings and we don’t have to buy an extra cage.

So that is the business side of birds. We have wonderful supporters that make donations of cash, produce and specialty food. That is how we stay afloat. That is how we fund our love for these birds.
