Fresh Produce from the Farmers market

Weatherford Farmers Market came through again with bushels of fresh produce. This is a huge expense to a little sanctuary like ours and a real blessing to receive FREE. Jim helped me this morning processing the food. Not many of my guys like tomatoes but we can trade them for other things the birds do like. The apples, pears and squash go over really well. And it must be a Texas bird thing but they all love jalapenas! One rule – do not touch yourself when processing hot peppers, they burn!!!!

We have processed and frozen apples, peaches, bananas, peppers, birdy bread, and squash to keep us going through the winter. Come spring we will be putting in our own herb garden and bird produce.
Now who is going to clean this mess up?
