Yesterday the voters spoke and two worthy children’s homes and the police support group were awarded large grants by American State Bank. We congratulate the winners. Bird Tails made wonderful contacts and spread the word about our mission. We receive daily blessings and feel no regret about not winning a grant. We have made new friends and supporters in the community.

Our mission has evolved over the past year from merely providing food and shelter for the birds to actually using the birds for educational and outreach programs. The majority of the birds will find themselves involved in programs for children and elders. In our efforts to enrich the lives of the birds through service, they are enriching the lives of those we serve. Serving others is a much more exciting and fulfilling life for the birds.
