It seems that Bandit has adjusted just fine to his new foster home. He eats so many different things, unlike Poco – who acts scared every time I try to introduce anything new. Bird food and nuts suit him just fine. A carrot here and there serves as gourmet food.

Poco’s cage sits on top of Bandit’s and Bill had to construct a little porch so that they didn’t easily see one another. Every time they ‘get together,’ it’s an instant…feathered fracas. I am choosing to accept this as their means of getting to know one another better in bird world (ok, so it’s to determine who is dominant). The other day Poco leaned his head down as far as he could to see Bandit. It really was hysterical.
It seems that Bandit likes company even more than Poco. Now I have TWO birds that cry when I leave the room. The difference is that Bandit will fly off his cage and follow after me!
He’s so cute when he steps up. He hangs on to the cage with his beak and then puts his shaky little foot on my finger, then the other one. He lets go of the cage with his beak quickly, but there is definately a process. He’s so much fun and even though he and Poco can’t seem to be close to one another without a lot of pecking going on, they seem to enjoy one another well enough when they are both within the security of their own cages. They just calmly look at one another – but who knows whats going through their little bird brains! 🙂
